Description
External Use
Not all utility bricks are suitable for outdoor applications. Please consult your Midland Brick Sales Advisor.
Colour & Texture
Utility bricks are typically used internally or rendered, so colour and texture are not guaranteed or considered in selection—except for paint-grade bricks, which are smooth with a square aris.
Coastal Areas
For coastal projects, use sealed joints and exposure-grade bricks with a compliant damp proof course for optimal protection.
Damp Proof Course (DPC)
A properly installed DPC above ground level is essential to protect brickwork from moisture and salt damage, helping preserve appearance and integrity.
Product Inspection
Inspect all bricks, blocks, and pavers upon delivery. Report any concerns to Customer Service before laying.
Colour Variation
Natural variation in colour may occur within and between batches due to the manufacturing process.
Chipping & Breakage
Minor chips or breakage (up to 5%) may occur during handling. Use these for cuts and infills.
Sizing
Sizes and coverage per m² are nominal and may vary due to manufacturing and installation methods. Speak with your Sales Advisor when mixing colours or patterns.
Standards Compliance
Products meet dimensional tolerances under AS/NZS 4455. Contact Midland Brick for details.
Cutting Guidelines
Wet bricks before cutting to reduce staining. Wash off slurry immediately and avoid contact with laid bricks.
